During the program year, 2010-2011, elementary and middle school students in our SC counties of York, Chester and Lancaster participated in Junior Achievement programs.   As a result of JA programs, the students are now
  • Empowered to their own economic success
  • Understand the value of staying in school
  • Appreciate the difference between needs and wants
  • Realize their individual skills and interests
  • Understand the importance of a budget
  • Appreciate the difference between "needs" and "wants"
  • Understand pursuing jobs in a STEM based market

Students served in 2010-2011:

York County:  3,529 from the following schools participated in Junior Achievement classroom programs, JA Biz Town, JA Finance Park and JA Job Shadow:
Elementary:  Crowders Creek, Ebinport, Fort Mill, Gold Hill, India Hook, Jefferson, Lesslie, Mount Holly, Northside Elementary School of the Arts, Oakdale, Old Pointe, Orchard Park, Pleasant Knoll, Riverview, Springfield, Sugar Creek and York Road; 
Middle Schools:  Dutchman Creek, Rawlinson Road, Saluda Trail, Sullivan
High School: Applied Technology Center


Chester:  1,164 students from the following schools participated in JA Biz Town and JA classroom programs:
  • Chester Park Center of Literacy Through Technology
  • Chester Park School of Inquiry
  • Chester Park School of The Arts
  • Great Falls Elementary
  • Lewisville Elementary
* JA and JROTC from Great Falls High School partnered teaching JA courses to 158 Great Falls Elementary School students.
